Right now, we are at spring training. At this special moment
in time, I’m currently looking for some freelance work in writing some baseball
articles. I’m keeping a close eye on spring training and trying to predict who
will be the minor leaguers to strike it big in the majors, with my stupid
little mathematical formula and trying my best to observe without MLB.TV or
Cable. I will be getting MLB.TV this month or early next month, but I need to
get a tower computer with a decent video card and hook it up to my TV. I refuse
to get cable TV… for now at least. But, the option of MLB TV surely does well
in the end.
Last
year, with my mathematical formula, I was telling people about Kyle Seager of
the Seattle Mariners. I had him on my fantasy baseball team (which I suck at,
got 8th out of 12th) at the start of the season at 2% of
Yahoo fantasy baseball leagues. He was later on 35% of them. So, I suppose this
thing sorta works? Well see about it in the near future. A Walk To Aquarius
will be filled with some of my baseball ranting’s down the road. STAY TUNED!
I’ll
still be cheering on the World Series losers The Detroit Tigers while mainly
listening to 97.1 FM with Dan Dickerson and Jim Price as we(or myself) root for
the Tigers to take it all the way (we failed at it twice, last year and in 2006
by getting to the world series). However, they just got rid of Brennan Boesch…
how shitty, I liked Boesch. I also like Inge, but he was too much of a defensive
guy and always kept swinging at the fences and striking out too much.
I was going to talk about Dennis Rodman in North Korea, but
first, I have to chime in on this issue that happened at a Pennsylvania school.
What happened was a receptionist was calling a student from an Ambridge school
to confirm an appointment, and that student’s voicemail message was the theme
of The Fresh Price of Bel-Air. Supposedly, the person calling up misheard they
lyrics “shooting some b-ball outside the school” as “shooting some people outside,
it was cool.” So anyways, this person hangs-up the phone and calls up the
school district, and the whole district is under lockdown. The student in
question was held by police for three hours.
People
like this broad (let’s assume it’s a woman, har-har) who misheard they lyrics
are the people I fucking hate. Not due to mishear lyrics, but these ‘overly
concerned’ people, these people with a big stick up their ass. Especially with
how school security is ran these days with the over-paranoia (with the Sandy
Hook shooting, can’t blame anybody for being paranoid about going to school).
If that happened to me due to some cunt getting the misunderstanding on my voicemail
message, I would be stalking this bitch, I’d tell the doctor’s office I’m out unless
this bitch gets fired. Lots of things I’d be doing to get this bitch, lots and
lots.
Dennis
Rodman, a provider of some great entertainment and a former Detroit Piston
during the Bad Boy era (I witnessed that!), had made his was to North Korea
with HBO following him. I supposed that the new leader wants to make amends,
unlike his father Little Kim (Bill Maher had a habit of calling Kim Jong-il
Little Kim). I imagine that the US Department of Defense was having a meeting
about this and all the generals were saying, “At least it’s Dennis Rodman, we
can experiment with him.” Just in case North Korea held him hostage and had demands
for the US, in which we would shrug them off and probably say fuck it. If it
was Kim Kardashian, we would be sending all the troops over there to get Ms. Kardashian
out and blow up the whole fucking country in no time.
Maybe
that is what the great leader of North Korea is doing; he wants to make amends
by getting the has-beens in there. We will begin to trust them with the more
famous types. Then, we will have Taylor Swift over there and they hold her
hostage. With that situation, we would launch a nuke over there, and then
perhaps all countries with nukes may get a little trigger happy, then Nuclear
Winter?
That’s a little far-fetched joke, but heh? When a white
woman goes missing, you’re not going to be watching American idol for a while.
According to Wikipedia, one of my favorite movies Falling
Down has been released twenty years ago today, on February 26, 1993. Twenty
damn years! I was 10 going on 11.
Falling
Down is a movie most of us angry white guys have in our DVD collection (I’m not
part of the majority, looking to get the DVD soon myself). For those who saw
the movie, it depicts a white male in a white shirt and tie just trying to get
to his little daughter’s birthday party. Fed up with his car not spitting out
cold air on a very hot day, he just leaves it in the middle of standstill
traffic. He walks of the freeway and heads down to a store owned by a Korean
grocer Mr. Lee, looking to get change for a phone call on a payphone (in those
days, mostly wealthy people had cell phones, everyone else had to depend on pay
phones). Mr. Lee won’t make change and also charges a can of Coca-Cola at 85
cents (or as he says it: ‘eighty-fie cent, you pay or go’), which infuriates
our nameless hero into busting up his merchandise with a baseball bat (in which
Mr. Lee tried to use on our hero) and giving out a lesson on pricing. Mr. Lee
eventually submits and charges the can of soda for ‘fifty cent.’ Our hero pays
for the soda, gets the change himself and goes bye-bye.
Next,
our hero walks around in gangland and interest two Latino gang members. He
decided to stop and enjoy is Coca-Cola in an empty field. The two gang members
confront our hero and tell him that he is not allowed there and eventually is
threaten by knifepoint. Our hero overthrows them with the baseball bat, takes
their knife and continues on. The two gang members now in a car with two
friends drive around in search for blood. They eventually find Foster making a
phone call to his wife (we learn that he is not welcome and they happen to be
divorced). They began firing at Foster and any unlucky bastards nearby with Uzi’s,
but failed to get Foster. They crash the car and three of the four appear to be
dead while one survives but is badly injured. Foster see no sympathy and grabs
a loose Uzi and shoots him in the leg, despite the gang members pleas, he takes
the bag of weapons and continues on.
While
at the police station, a day until retirement, Det. Prendergast (William Duvall)
takes on the assignment of going after our hero, later identifying him as
William Foster, he and his partner (Rachel Ticotin) go on asking questions and
following Foster one step behind.
Foster
goes on to a Whammy-Burger (perhaps a parody of Burger Kind or Mickey D’s) and
pulls out a gun because ‘they weren’t serving breakfast.’ And while so, frightening
most of the staff and the customers (that manager guy looked awfully dorky). He
tells off a bum who tries to panhandle him. He tries to make another call to
home on a payphone but gets the busy signal; he shoots up the payphone after a
man behind him complains.
He also encounters a neo-Nazi
homophobe named Nick (Fredric Forrest) who believes he and Foster are the same,
but Foster disagrees. The two fight with Foster getting the upper hand at the
end, then shooting him to death. He takes Nick’s rocket launcher and walks on.
He has an argument with a construction crew member who eventually admits that
they’re presence is not really needed, so with Nick’s rocket launcher, he gives
them something to fix.
His mean streak continues into a
country club where an infuriated golfer doesn’t want him to ‘pass through’ and
shoots a golf ball to Foster. Our hero avoids it and walks up to the golfer
with a shotgun. Instead of shooting him, he shoots the golf cart which goes
down the hill and into a lake and sinks, carrying the man’s pills for his
heart. The man can’t handle what is happening and goes on dying of a heart attack while Foster
says with a smile on his face, “You are going to die with that stupid little
hat on, how does that feel?” (Got that quote wrong... don't feel like revising it, take a look at the video below:)
I spent little too much explaining
this movie and spoiling it to the few who probably haven’t seen it. Most of us
have seen this movie and today, it turns 20 years old. Next year, this movie
can walk in the bar and say ‘”gimme a beer.”
For the very few who visit this
blog, go and get the DVD, or maybe you can wait for the 20thanniversary edition (if they
are going to make one, I imagine they will). I’ll be doing that very soon.
I'm doing this blog entry through Dragon naturally speaking.
So let's see how this handles my mumbo-jumbo, otherwise I can always edit it
later when it gets the wrong word. But so far I like it!
I myself don't have cable TV, and choose not to have it really
is due to the idea that I barely watch TV to begin with. But anyways, my cheap ass
was watching the coverage of Christopher Dorner's death. I also like the idea
that CNN was playing the live feed from the police scanner with the cursing
included. I kind of wish I could’ve sat at home and listen to that when it was
going down at the time, but I had to work. I switched shifts recently from
third to second. But anyways with YouTube, you can always find a copy of the video
in that segment. You got to love those words of the officers telling them the
burn the motherfucker down. I wonder if the PTC will go after CNN? They seem to
have a problem with the 12-12-12 concert being censored which is portion to
begin with. It's nice to see that we have Nazi organizations like the PTC frame
sensors on everything.
But anywho, I found it interesting with this Huffington Post
article, pointed out to me by Tom Leykis, that the mother was sitting at the
bar reading chips and salsa while watching her son being shot at by cops and
burning him down on TV. But so far, it's just the Huffington Post saying so, I
haven't seen any other organizations getting confirmations on the article.
Feel bad for those cops and those civilians who list their
lives due to this.
Boy oh boy, my interest shift (let’s call it that) is back
to A Walk to Aquarius after three months away. I’m also back to reading. Now getting
back to By the Tall Oak by Rita Sorensen and that Doug Glanville book (too lazy
to get off my ass to get the title) for my reading, while playing dice baseball
for both teams. I’m such a dork…
Listening to Bill
Cunningham now, crazy political mofo! My digest of talk radio… on Sunday nights.
Papa John’s and Applebee’s are under fire about the new
ObamaCare here in the United States. Papa John himself (he is the CEO, named John Schnatter) had his opinion about ObamaCare, citing
that he might have to lay off employees and raise the prices up a little for
the products. Now, it seems that he is also on the wrong end of the lawsuit
with the spam of text messages. That part I would agree with, I would hate for
Papa John to send me text messages over and over telling me to buy more of his
pizza after I just bought one.
The Boycotts of Papa John’s and Applebee’s are not
going to work as much as these leftists want. Both of these places will
continue on, but with less manpower. Making health care free for the over 300
million people in the US is going to cost some money, and if it has to come
from a wealthy man’s pocket, especially those who own a brand name string of
shops, people are also going to pay. Expect the price of your pizza, spaghetti,
milk or your Asian Massage including the happy ending to go up. It does take a
while for capitalism to go to socialism and it does do some harm to the public.
While we head to socialism and fanatics trying to
boycott any brave CEOs who are willing to tell the truth, it appears that Patrice
Wilson is spinning another hit. For those who don’t know who this man is, you’ve
probably seen him before if you are an angry basement-dweller or just someone
who gets stuck in the Youtube matrix every once in a while. Mr. Wilson is the
man who co-wrote and also appears in Rebecca Black’s Friday. His company is in
the business of making these tweens famous (perhaps in a wrong way) with their
own music videos. For those who don’t know, even with Rebecca Black got out
there, a few other people had summoned him and his company with their own music
videos, only Ms. Black got lucky.
And now this?
This was out on November 7th and now has over
five million views. And boy, this is just as bad as Friday. It’s nice to see
people try to show some emphasis on Thanksgiving, seriously, but the majority
of people (myself included, you probably don’t give a shit about what I think)
are finding this awfully goofy. Especially with Patrice Wilson (a black man going to a party with white children)
arriving to this party on the video in a chicken costume? Boy, this man is a sick
motherfucker for preteen white girls.
